As TASS reported today, referring to the tournament organizer - the Russian Export Center (REC), the team of Baikal State University (Irkutsk) became the winner of the EAEU student championship in international business negotiations, which was held in Moscow as part of the international export forum "Made in Russia".
"The REC Export School held the first student championship of the Eurasian
Economic Union in international business negotiations. According to the results
of three rounds of negotiation duels, the team of Baikal State University won
with the highest number of points," the report says.
The championship was held with the support of the Eurasian Economic
Commission, it was attended by teams of leading economic universities of Russia,
Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, noted in the REC. Representatives of the Eurasian
Economic Commission, the Russian Export Center, as well as current entrepreneurs
acted as judges.
Director General of the REC Export School Alisa Nikitina noted the importance
of such youth events for building relations between Russia and other countries.
"This format of events contributes to the strengthening and deepening of
international cooperation between Russia's foreign trade partners through the
implementation of the youth agenda and active involvement of today's generation
of students, who in the near future will have to determine both the policy of
their own state and its relations with other countries," Nikitina said, her
words are quoted in the report.
International Export Forum "Made in Russia" is held on October 19-20 in the
Moscow exhibition center "Manezh". The organizer of the forum is the Russian
Export Center - the state institute of support for non-resource exports (part of
VEB.RF), consolidating a group of companies that provide Russian exporters with
a wide range of financial and non-financial support measures. The forum is held
within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and
Export".
Maria Chalikova-Ukhanova, senior lecturer of the Institute of World Economy
and International Relations, prepared BSU students for the qualifying round. One
winner was chosen from all the teams. According to Maria Vasilievna, the BSU
team was ahead of the rest by a large margin. The selection to the team was
purposeful. We chose those guys who could speak well, who had experience in such
events.
The BSU team included Anastasia Balashova, Sergey Prokhin, Ekaterina
Rumyantseva and Evgenia Popyrina. According to Maria Chalikova-Ukhanova, the
qualifying round was held remotely. The jury, which included representatives of
the Eurasian Economic Commission and businessmen with many years of experience
in international negotiations, closely watched the work of the teams. One of the
jury representatives singled out the Baikal State University team and presented
it with a book.
The directorate of the school of export center informed that only the winner
would be determined in the championship and our university became the winner,
the rest were just given diplomas. Thus, Baikal State University even surpassed
its rival - Yaroslavl State University, which was the first in the qualifying
round". The BSU team successfully overcame all three final stages. Two
participants of the Irkutsk team acted as importers and two as exporters. They
had to solve the corresponding tasks.
"Everyone is obliged to "sell" their terms in negotiations, but in such a way
that cultural peculiarities, diplomacy, correct and competent wording were
observed. The interlocutor was not to be pressured, yet the negotiation had to
be successful. We had only 15 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to negotiate,"
said Maria Chalikova-Ukhanova.
