The BSU student cultural and leisure center "Khudozhestvenny" opened a unique exhibition "The Way of the Bible from Sinai to Siberia", where you can find books from ancient manuscripts to the latest editions.
"We are pleased to present an exhibition of Bibles in the city of Irkutsk. We
have truly unique editions. And in total we have brought more than two hundred
books", - says the organizer of the exhibition Victor Ergardt.
The Bible is the only book in the world translated into all languages. All
the presented books are in excellent preservation, many of them were kept in
historical museums. One of the most interesting exhibits is the oldest Torah
scroll. It is also interesting to look at the Soviet Samizdat, at that time it
was impossible to print the Bible and it was copied by hand. Here you can find
various translations of the Old and New Testament. There is a copy in Chinese.
For the youngest visitors, the organizers prepared a small interactive show,
recreating the first printing press of Gutenberg.
"I liked the exhibition very much. There are a lot of such exhibits that you
probably won't see anywhere else. It will be interesting for children too,
because you can see and touch everything. I recommend everyone to go", - shares
the impressions of the visitor of the exhibition Anastasia Frolina.
The books are traveling to all cities of Russia. After Irkutsk, the
exhibition will go to Bratsk and Nizhneudinsk, and then to
Altai.
