Mikhail Kuz’min, Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSU, as a member of the Russian delegation visited India to participate in the Russian Education Fair 2023 at the Russian House in New Delhi.
The Russian delegation included representatives of 22 humanities, technical
and medical universities. Among them are state universities from Moscow, St.
Petersburg, Orenburg, Perm, Tula, Pskov, Yoshkar-Ola and Sevastopol. Baikal
State University participated for the first time.
The fair started with a round table devoted to the comprehensive development
of Russian-Indian cooperation. Representatives of ten Indian and twelve Russian
universities participated in the discussion of the future prospects of bilateral
relations. Mikhail Kuz’min, Vice-Rector for International Activities of BSU,
made a report on the potential of BSU in the field of education of Indian
students, realization of joint international projects in various spheres and
prospects of studying Russian language. The work resulted in the conclusion of
an agreement with Indira Gandhi National Open University, as well as two
protocols of intent with Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The exhibition was opened by all its participants led by Pavel Shevtsov,

"This is the first exhibition of this kind of scale, but I am sure that today
we are setting a long-standing tradition. Russian education is traditionally
valued in India. Thanks to this fair we want to show that there are many areas
of high quality training in Russia," said Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of
Rossotrudnichestvo.
"The Irkutsk region is extremely attractive for Indian students due to its
ecology, clean water, climate and relative territorial proximity. I am glad to
have the opportunity to introduce Indian citizens to the infrastructure of
Baikal State University, the city of Irkutsk, as well as programs in law,
economics, management, linguistics, which are among the best and competitive in
the Russian and international market" - emphasized Vice-Rector for International
Activities of BSU Mikhail Kuz’min.
The exhibition ended on September 30, 2023 with the opening ceremony of the
new office of the company "Russian Education", with which Baikal State
University started fruitful cooperation this year.
