The All-Russian Student Parade is held in Irkutsk for the seventh time, and every year the column of activists, excellent students and athletes from BSU is one of the most numerous, bright and creative. Vivid flags, branded T-shirts and speeches - all this was observed by the residents of Irkutsk for more than three hours in the very center of the city - on Speransky Square, and then - at the Sports Center. Young people from 21 educational institutions of the capital of Eastern Siberia marched along Lenin Street to festive music. The students of Baikal University were joined by former nine-graders who became a part of BSU College.
On the square in front of the Sports Palace our freshmen participated in the festive show together with 7 thousand of their peers.
Representatives of the Irkutsk Mayor's Office, the Irkutsk Region Government and rectors of the leading universities in the city, including the acting BSU rector Oleg Gribunov, addressed the young people from the stage as guests of honor.
The Governor of the region Igor Kobzev not only congratulated those present on the fact that today they officially becoming members of the student fraternity, but urged to develop their small homeland upon graduation.
"Do not forget, you are our future. The future of the region," said Igor Kobzev.
The festival organizers set up sports grounds near the fountain and a concert program, in which young musicians from BSU - the front men of the instrumental ensemble "Ekspromt" - performed.
Nice weather, wonderful atmosphere and the feeling of importance of the first city student holiday - this is what the participants of the Parade will remember for the rest of their lives.
