Baikal State University celebrated The Freshman Day. A small concert program and a drawing of gifts with the university logo were prepared for all those who joined the beautiful and big family of the university.

Studying at BSU is an opportunity to get knowledge in the most promising fields from the best teachers. The ceremony of the event traditionally began with the singing of the anthem and raising the Russian national flag. On behalf of the rector of the university, Professor Viktor Ignatenko, the acting rector, Professor Oleg Gribunov addressed the freshmen. He wished our students to graduate the university successfully with all the necessary skills.

"I am sure you will become the elite of the Irkutsk region, and we must fulfill the main task - to prepare and graduate highly qualified personnel", - Oleg Gribunov addressed the freshmen and teachers.

Natalia Vasilyeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Baikal State University, presented commemorative coins to the first-year students who had the highest scores at admission.

Students’ life in n Baikal State University is hard study, bright creative and sports life, productive social activities. At the event, the freshmen were introduced to the directors of BSU institutes and the International Department. The heads of the institutes congratulated the students, wished them a full of events student life, success in their studies and extracurricular activities.

"We envy you a little and sincerely wish that at the end of your studies you won’t be glad that it’s over," emphasized the director of the Institute of State Law and National Security of BSU Svetlana Praskova.
